Those who prosper from powering the world with a source that causes suffering and anguish for all living beings upon the earth will try to convince the masses that bio fuels are a negative thing - and they could at the moment have a point.

Currently, most biofuels are derived from food crops that need the best land to be grown.

Here is a solution to this delema.

Mind you for them it is a win-win situation because if biofuels cause a food shortage then the value of their stocks will rise - so they will once again profit from the suffering and death of humanity.

But here is another miracle plant provided by mother nature to bring her children into utopia.

It's latin name is Jatropha Curcas.

"This plant can be grown in the most hostile of environments, including deserts, garbage dumps, and rock piles, where food crops wouldn't stand a chance. It's a low maintenance shrub, needing about 600 mm of water, but which can survive three years of drought by dropping it's leaves.

The seeds yield up to 37% oil content, and can be made into biodiesel virtually as it is.
...produces more than four times as much fuel per hectare as soybean, and more than ten times that of corn."

Though most of the plant is inedible, there is some evidence that parts of it may have some properties that with further study may prove to have medicinal value.

I do however stress that no one should use it as an herbal medicine until it has been proven to be completely safe.

"Anti-inflammatory activity of topical application of Jatropha curcas L. root powder in paste form in TPA-induced ear inflammation was confirmed in albino mice...
...resultant anti-inflammatory activity might be due to effects on several mediators and arachidonic acid metabolism involving cyclo-oxygenase pathway resulting in prostaglandin formation, anti-proliferative activity leading to reduction in granular tissue formation and leukocyte migration from the vessels."

Here is a list of other qualities of jatropha.

It prevents wind and water erosion.
It's a useful shelter plant for other crops.
It's a fast growing perennial that can live up to 50 years.
Oil from the seeds can also be used for making candles, soap, lubricant, and pesticide.
Requires 1/10 the water an average palm tree does.
