Baptism is a common practice throughout the Christian religion for both Catholics and Protestants alike. Catholics without consent sprinkle water on babies, while many baptists dunk people in water. Mormons have to wear only white, and fully submerge their mind control victims. There are a denomination of Baptists called dunkers who dunk 3 times (once each for the father, the holy ghost, and the son). There are many ways that baptism has been interpreted, and instructions for proper baptism aren't made clear or out in the open in the Bible which is an indication that it's been slightly censored (like seeing one's nakedness implies sex).

Things become clearer when we put things in context. Read how Jesus criticized the Pharisees in their improper hygiene observations:

Matthew 23:36
Thou blind Pharisee, cleanse first that which is within the cup and platter, that the outside of them may be clean also.

Jesus was likely one of the first in written history to use enemas to heal people of skin problems.

Lets look at an occasion that makes sense now when put into this context:

John 13
5 After that he poureth water into a bason, and began to wash the disciples' feet, and to wipe them with the towel wherewith he was girded.
6 Then cometh he to Simon Peter: and Peter saith unto him, Lord, dost thou wash my feet?

John 13
8 Peter saith unto him, Thou shalt never wash my feet. Jesus answered him, If I wash thee not, thou hast no part with me.

That is a huge declaration of the importance of this practice! It's important to clean feet of the fecal matter that you'd pick up during an enema probably to avoid ring worm and other fungal infections.

Jesus performs enemas at a wedding:

John 2
1 Now on the third day there was a wedding at Cana in Galilee.89 Jesus’ mother was there,90 2 and both Jesus and his disciples were also invited to the wedding. 3 When the wine ran out, Jesus’ mother said to him, “They have no wine left.” 4 Jesus replied, “Woman, why are you saying this to me? My time has not yet come.” 5 His mother told the servants, “Whatever he tells you, do it.”

Jesus is saying here that the fruit in his stomach has not fermented and reached his bowels yet. His mother acknowledges this and has the servants help produce the wine via enema.

Here we see Jesus showing us with his hands that digging out an impacted rectum can cure heart burn:

Women took great pride in having clean colons prepared for sexual penetration:

Jeremiah 49:4 4
Why do you boast in the valleys, Your flowing valley, O backsliding daughter? Who trusted in her treasures, saying, 'Who will come against me?'

Like the Christian Church trying to destroy its source of knowledge by killing witches and alternative faiths including astrology, Jesus was trying to destroy Mr. Hanky the true God with his enema. Shooting holy water up the rectum would ensure that solid feces could not form undermining Mr. Hanky's incarnation.
