Well, this game is about to come out on Open Beta starting March 30th. We've already pre-ordered the game and have our open beta keys and now just waiting to get on the game on the 30th.
I know it's probably childish, but hubby and I just love online RPGs like these. We played Turbine's "Asheron's Call" for almost 2 years, Ultima Online and lastly Dungeons and Dragons online. Don't bother with DDO, it's lame. I love Turbine, but DDO sucked a** big time.
What I love about these games is not the actual RPG part. I don't RPG myself, but love the genre nonetheless.
The part that makes it the most fun for me, is being able to speak live via voice chat with the other members of your party when going on quests, etc. I've had some sore gut laughing moments in voice chat during a quest.
Here's a video with voice chat included that gives a bit of a feel for games like this. If anyone from here is going to play, maybe we could all meet up in game some time.
Extended family members that live with us play WoW. I've seen the game, and don't care for it. Not too keen on the graphics and content. Played Dungeons and Dragons online as well and it was lame. Turbine could have done better...but I'm excited to see how LOTRO will turn out.
