Hey guys I'm having trouble uninstalling IE7... I went the normal way of add/remove programmes but somewhere along the line it says Im missing a file... tried re-installing but still come come up with the same error when trying it again...

The problems are getting quite annoying and sometimes IE7 freezes then I have to CtrlAltDel... Hope that someone out there in this weird wide web can assist me...

It seems like the claws are starting to take a grip on XP too, and the weird thing is I haven't upgraded for almost 2 years now then I make the mistake of U/G IE...

Plse... and Thx...

Just for fun, try to use a Repair option first and see what happens. If that doesn't work try to see what file is missing and look it up on MS's TechNet site.

Try finding the missing file with a search engine and replace it, if that doesn't work, system restore if that's disabled or doesn't work, do a repair with the windows installer.

Thanks guys for the info... after much trial and error I figured out a way to do it myself...

First I had to edit the Spunist.inf file in the C:/windows/ie7/spunst (something like that... forgot now)... deleted all the info under SourceDisk and saved it, then I ran the uninstaller via add/rem. I got a few error msg's but just agreed and ignored etc... and finally it uninstalled.
Then I had a problem because that was the rollback info files I deleted and ie6 didn't want to work, so I ran the sfc/ scannow command and it prompted me for the CD... it copied all the necassary system files restarted and Vualaaaa...

I guess they call it legal hacking, but I call it fooking with our brains...

Thx alot guys...
