Are there any non-animal tested deoderant brands?
If not then I suppose I wouldn't mind going all natural.

Shave pits, pat with baking soda.

There's also some Crystal Rock Deoderant I've heard of. Not sure if it's natural or a product though.

I would be lynched if I went all natural. I have used lemon in the past and the crystal deodorant as well. The crystal doesn't work well on me and lemon just plain stung (most likely because of bacteria). I now shave and use a deodorant that does not use animal testing and without aluminums.

the animal testing is a big issue, but so is the aluminum and parabens! the only all natural deodorant (non anti-perspirant) ive found that even comes CLOSE to working well was called bendetta. it uses a grapeseed alcohol as the active ingredient. i dont know if its safe, but it has to be safer than regular antiperspirants.

however, it is expensive and smells like damn vaporub!
i was actually going to start a thread about this....

grapeseed alcohol huh? I never heard of that! But very interesting! I have heard of grapeseed oil but found it to be too drying for my skin.

I don't see how we can't make our own. This is just an idea... I know how to make all natural soap from scratch using veggie oils. And from what I remember on a forum I used to frequent on this subject, some very inventive ladies did share a few ideas.

So this post got me thinking... why not melt/mix these ingredients together and pour into an clean deodorant container. These are readily available, or you could just clean up an old one from the store. I don't know if this would even work, but it's just an idea. The mix would have to be in such ratios as to prevent it from being too oily. I make lip balms for myself with most of the same ingredients but leave out the cornstarch and baking soda. I've heard of some people using the cornstarch, etc. for "slip" in body balm soothing oils in a push-up container.

Shea Butter
Cornstarch
Baking soda
Beeswax
Tea Tree essential oil (this is anti fungal and anti bacterial.. stinks but works!)
Vit E capsule or Sweet Almond oil

Go visit some soapmaking/toiletry websites and forums out there and see what they are doing. If you don't want to make it yourself, I'm sure there are many who are more than willing to sell to you.

neem shampoos are pretty good. i also like siwak stick to brush my teeth, but i mostly do that in between meals...
im currently looking for all bath products that arent deadly (toothpaste, deodorant, hair products)

so far im pretty unsuccessful. i still use regular toothpastes and shampoos.

I use deodorants from the Body Shop.

If you go to one of those ''health stores''. Not sure what they are called in america.. Im pretty sure you can find some safe ones. The ones without alcohol, aluminium, parabens etc. I read about one of aloe vera, but don't remember the product name. I can look it up if you want. Not sure if they are animal tested though.

edit:

It's not the one i was just talking about, but this one is supposed to be a ''deodorant without harmful chemicals, safe and healthy''. Maybe not the healthiest, but compared to most other deodorants..

Anyway, i'll try to find the name on the other one i was talking about.

Milk of Magnesia for Anti-Persperant

*Note: It's not a wise choice to block a natural function of your body, but if you must...

It is cheap (a bottle lasts months), has no odor, dries clear, doesn't stain clothes, and is effective against odor and perspiration. Since it's safe to ingest; it's not going to contain very harmful ingredients, and is aluminum free.
