Cheap and tasty meals
I wouldn't suggest these as healthy meals, I'd suggest them as cheap food to get you by which compares to much more expensive meals in a restaurant:
Spaghetti and clams
Half a box of cheap spaghetti (not Muellers -yuck) (~$,17)
Pasta sauce or crushed tomatoes with herbs (preferably with olive oil) (~$.30)
Half a can of baby clams (~$.70)
*Linguini's with clams costs about $15 in a restaurant plus tip and tastes about the same.
Spanish Rice
Rice (~$.17)
Pasta sauce or crushed tomatoes with herbs (preferably with olive oil) (~$.30)
Habanero, Cayenne or Jalepeno pepper ($.05)
Make 3 cups of rice (follow instructions on rice package) 2 cups water+1 cup rice yields ~3 cups.
To save gas/ electric: I throw the vegetables in with the rice just before it's time to remove from heat.
Warm up your frying pan then lightly coat the bottom with some fry oil (not sesame oil).
Dish the rice into the frying pan and make a hole in the center:
Crack the egg into the center, then scramble just the egg lightly
Fry until egg is almost cooked, then stir it up with fork
Drizzle a tablespoon sesame oil on for flavor, remove from heat, stir
Use soysauce to season. *Some soy sauce contains Sodium Benzoate which is on our top food additives to avoid.

El cheapo spaghetti (sounds crummy but it's nice)
1 packet of 2-minute noodles - AUD$ 0.45
small jar of bolognaise sauce - AUD$ 1.80 (sauce usually enough for 2-3 feeds)
Small knob of Mozarella cheese - AUD$ 3.50 ( will last for ages and can be used for other dishes)
Cook noodles as per packet directions. drain noodles and stir in some pasta sauce then top with grated Mozarella cheese.

I live off pasta. Its all I can do right now. I make it up right and get every veggie you can think of. I make a huge vat of it and eat for a week for roughly $16. - $20. Its nice.

LOL, sounds like a recipe for "spread". For those lucky folks who never been locked up...
Spread originated in the Los Angeles County Jail and eventually inmates in the CDC and surrounding county jails began eating spread. The staple in any spread is a "Soup"(Nissin Ramen Noodles) the soup is usually seasoned with chips, popcorn, mixed with leftovers from the last issued meal, and condiments such as mayonaise and mustard, the more expensive spreads are made with tuna. The term "spreading" refers to inmates collectively pitching in different items from the commissary to one inmates who "cooks" for several other inmates. Often if an inmate comes into the dormitory with no commissary members of his group will give him a ration of spread. Spreading is also a spiritual way for inmates to connect with each other. For instance inmates will often make large expensive spreads if an inmate has an important court date coming up, if an inmate has a birthday, if a popular inmate is soon to be released, or if an inmate is going away to prison.
