Post His Own Words Reply with quote
Quote:
On Invention: It is the most important product of man's creative brain. The ultimate purpose is the complete mastery of mind over the material world, the harnessing of human nature to human needs.

I do not think there is any thrill that can go through the human heart like that felt by the inventor as he sees some creation of the brain unfolding to success... Such emotions make a man forget food, sleep, friends, love, everything.

Of all the frictional resistance, the one that most retards human movement is ignorance, what Buddha called "the greatest evil in the world." The friction which results from ignorance can be reduced only by the spread of knowledge and the unification of the heterogeneous elements of humanity. No effort could be better spent.

Universal peace as a result of cumulative effort through centuries past might come into existence quickly -- not unlike a crystal that suddenly forms in a solution which has been slowly prepared.

The last 29 days of the month [are] the hardest.

Our virtues and our failings are inseparable, like force and matter. When they separate, man is no more.

The scientists of today think deeply instead of clearly. One must be sane to think clearly, but one can think deeply and be quite insane.

No matter what we attempt to do, no matter to what fields we turn our efforts, we are dependent on power. We have to evolve means of obtaining energy from stores which are forever inexhaustible, to perfect methods which do not imply consumption and waste of any material whatever. If we use fuel to get our power, we are living on our capital and exhausting it rapidly. This method is barbarous and wantonly wasteful and will have to be stopped in the interest of coming generations.

The scientific man does not aim at an immediate result. He does not expect that his advanced ideas will be readily taken up. His work is like that of a planter -- for the future. His duty is to lay foundation of those who are to come and point the way.

Even matter called inorganic, believed to be dead, responds to irritants and gives unmistakable evidence of a living principle within. Everything that exists, organic or inorganic, animated or inert, is susceptible to stimulus from the outside.

Science is but a perversion of itself unless it has as its ultimate goal the betterment of humanity.

We are confronted with portentous problems which can not be solved just by providing for our material existence, however abundantly. On the contrary, progress in this direction is fraught with hazards and perils not less menacing than those born from want and suffering. If we were to release the energy of the atoms or discover some other way of developing cheap and unlimited power at any point of the globe this accomplishment, instead of being a blessing, might bring disaster to mankind... The greatest good will come from the technical improvements tending to unification and harmony, and my wireless transmitter is preeminently such. By its means the human voice and likeness will be reproduced everywhere and factories driven thousands of miles from waterfalls furnishing the power; aerial machines will be propelled around the earth without a stop and the sun's energy controlled to create lakes and rivers for motive purposes and transformation of arid deserts into fertile land... (Nikola Tesla, "My Inventions: the autobiography of Nikola Tesla", Hart Bros., 1982. Originally appeared in the Electrical experimenter magazine in 1919.)

War cannot be avoided until the physical cause for its recurrence is removed and this, in the last analysis, is the vast extent of the planet on which we live. Only through annihilation of distance in every respect, as the conveyance of intelligence, transport of passengers and supplies and transmission of energy will conditions be brought about some day, insuring permanency of friendly relations. What we now want is closer contact and better understanding between individuals and communities all over the earth, and the elimination of egoism and pride which is always prone to plunge the world into primeval barbarism and strife... Peace can only come as a natural consequence of universal enlightenment... (Nikola Tesla, "My Inventions: the autobiography of Nikola Tesla", Hart Bros., 1982. Originally appeared in the Electrical experimenter magazine in 1919.)

On Edison: If Edison had a needle to find in a haystack, he would proceed at once with the diligence of the bee to examine straw after straw until he found the object of his search. ...

I was a sorry witness of such doings, knowing that a little theory and calculation would have saved him ninety per cent of his labor. (New York Times, October 19, 1931.)

On Mark Twain: I had hardly completed my course at the Real Gymnasium when I was prostrated with a dangerous illness or rather, a score of them, and my condition became so desperate that I was given up by physicians. During this period I was permitted to read constantly, obtaining books from the Public Library which had been neglected and entrusted to me for classification of the works and preparation of the catalogues. One day I was handed a few volumes of new literature unlike anything I had ever read before and so captivating as to make me utterly forget my hopeless state. They were the earlier works of Mark Twain and to them might have been due the miraculous recovery which followed. Twenty-five years later, when I met Mr. Clemens and we formed a friendship between us, I told him of the experience and was amazed to see that great man of laughter burst into tears. (Nikola Tesla, "My Inventions: the autobiography of Nikola Tesla", Hart Bros., 1982. Originally appeared in the Electrical experimenter magazine in 1919.)

song my joy electric:

Nikola Tesla, Nikola Tesla
Nikola Tesla, Nikola Tesla

Lesser known of these inventors
Bell, Marconi, T. Edison
Libraries of calculations
Unfinished and then forgotten

Nikola Tesla, who remembers?

Radio, a feat unheard of
Broadcast from a wireless system
Neon lights, fluorescent light bulbs
Microscopes and basic radar

Nikola Tesla, who remembers?

Genius, scientist, inventor
Penniless at death, yet ignored

Nikola Tesla, who remembers?

Post Tesla On Eugenics Reply with quote
http://www.tfcbooks.com/tesla/1935-02-00.htm

Quote:
The year 2100 will see eugenics universally established. In past ages, the law governing the survival of the fittest roughly weeded out the less desirable strains. Then man's new sense of pity began to interfere with the ruthless workings of nature. As a result, we continue to keep alive and to breed the unfit. The only method compatible with our notions of civilization and the race is to prevent the breeding of the unfit by sterilization and the deliberate guidance of the mating instinct, Several European countries and a number of states of the American Union sterilize the criminal and the insane. This is not sufficient. The trend of opinion among eugenists is that we must make marriage more difficult. Certainly no one who is not a desirable parent should be permitted to produce progeny. A century from now it will no more occur to a normal person to mate with a person eugenically unfit than to marry a habitual criminal.

Hello. It is my first post here as I found this forum on very strange way. Toolbar. Well. I was born in former Jugoslavija, country Slovenia. After 19 years abroad am I still confused how little or nothing people out of former Yugoslavian border know about Nikola Tesla. He is legend, he is famous that much that he may not be famous. Edison is writen in historical books instead of Tesla.
But you know dear people in all former Yugoslavian republics are people studying and continuing his work. One for example is in Serbia. He made something against radiation and it helped when NATO (USA) has attack to Serbia 1999.
Another one is in Slovenia. He have very much success with Tesla simbols which are energetic power against stream inside houses and some kind of protectors.
Slavko Gorenc my teacher went so far in multi dimensial space with his measurement and cleaning of biosistems. (People, plants, animals) He named his science Biokibernetika (biocybernetics) How far away from Tesla researches is it I don"t know at all. But part of it is real Tesla, that is the fact. So well. After 50-100 years some people will talk about some BIOCYBER scinece begun in Slovenia 1993 and today we are talking about Tesla. To late, that"s because are we in groups but just drop of us are living outside Slovenian and former Yugoslavian borders.

There is much more and I am still surprised how much public talking about Edison, Einsten etc and there is no word abot Nikola Tesla. Even Ebay has moved out of sale some kind of Tesla shield. It is protecting for sure. But who believes? Laughing

Nothing named here above is patented, but it do not need to be, because it is to complicated for masive production and it must go from word to word.

So well. Here is song. If you are listening it than you will find some kind of Tesla feels, Tesla soul, because country he is come from has it own BIO code as this song have. Click here to watch Tesla

Greetings Andres, welcome to the forum. Thanks for giving the Yugoslavian perspective.

Tesla was making scientific breakthroughs that the bankers did not want to allow (as is evident in his history with J.P. Morgan). By attempting to find and implement a free, unlimited power source, he made himself an enemy of those who wish to enslave humanity using limited, expensive power sources (among other means). Outwardly they played their "ignore and ridicule" card in the media, while inwardly they blocked financial efforts behind the scenes. This effectively reduced his potential, and they were successful in their damage-control agenda. After his death, they stole his work and used it for themselves. To this day, his name is used sparingly, to prevent common knowledge of his work. It is necessary to prevent others from picking up where he left off.

If you are interested in learning about another inventor who has a similar story, research "John Ernst Worrell Keely".

Post Thank you for more truth about Tesla Reply with quote
Thank you for spreading the truth about Nikola Tesla. To me (a very "doubting Tom" type person) there is more than enough evidence that he was all he said he was and then some. But he would not sell out for money. He wanted to help mankind. Much like many inventors of today whose works we'll also never see. Unlimited free energy, no gravity at will, etc.

The only thing Thomas Edison had was a very good PR department. And a ruthless legal department. I am convinced if Nikola Tesla had lived and worked another ten years, not had his lab burn to the ground and had the backing and following Thomas Edison enjoyed, the human race would have made one of those every few thousand year huge digital jumps (i.e. discovery of fire) that would today have us enjoying whatever those a thousand years from now will have as part of their evey day lives (if we don't destroy ourselves first). Let's hope the next Tesla manages to break through the many road blocks created by men of the likes of Thomas Edison.

Hi Guys!

I'm new here but I have a forty year background in electronics. Found this site when I stumbled across it in Firefox.

Just like to say that I'm not entirely sure that "thief" is the right word to describe Edison; it was a different world then, and common practice to pick up on somebody else's ideas and refine them. Rather, I would call him an innovator or developer.

I agree wholeheartedly about Tesla, though.

A genuine genius at least a generation before his time; a man so misunderstood that he never received proper recognition for his work. Some of it is only just now seeing the light of day as developments in the more "open" times we currently live in start to catch up with what he was actually aiming at.

A whole shedload of info is available at www.pbs.org/tesla/

If you ever thought car security wasn't dramatic enough, this Tesla-coil automobile protector should satisfy your desire for spectacle. Attaching a 4-inch coil to a boom on the roof of his car, Australian Peter Terren created what is no doubt the coolest-looking theft deterrent to ever be built into a motor vehice. Terren captured the photo above, showing the coil's ring of electricity (which he calls the Eye of Sauron, after the character in The Lord of the Rings), with time-lapse photography.

Putting aside for a second that such a security system would be about one one-thousandth legal, the Eye would certainly scare away any casual thieves, though determined ones could probably disable it easily enough (just off the top of my head, pulling down the boom with a rope). Nonetheless, it's definitely the most wicked form of vehicle security we've ever seen — even if it's not as effective as a MagnaVolt. — Peter Pachal
