possible flyer to get more attendants

since madthumbs seems to have a good grasp on the online gathering of more poeple, i was thinking that it might be a good idea to put up some flyers around town to try to get some more poeple active in the OD website. i came up with a rough draft of a flyer that might work. i have not spent alot of time with it. if you think its a good idea and want to, add to or remake the flyer, that would be cool. let me know what you guys think. i have little experience with graphic editing so hopefully someone will make something that looks cool. if i do print some to pass out, ill be doing it black and white, so keep that in mind.

thats great! but what about the wording? would u look at the words and see if u think i should change anything. i mean i just generically applied what i think the website is about. i kinda feel like i repeated some ideas to much and it might be wise to beef it up with some more meaningful sentences. the bottom paragraph ends abruptly as well, which is kinda lame.

Just some thoughts of mine, possible edit's:

1/ "Our Government Authorities have information" i would go with this one myself.

2/ OpposingDigits.com <-- centred
Health, Conspiracies, Activism <-- below the above

maybe find another word for Activism, like Awareness....

3/ Educate yourself with a great deal of information from "true/real" alternative news sources.

4/ I would leave out Activisim all together, make's it sound like a bunch of cult worshipers bent on destroying the world etc...

5/ "u" is spelt "you"

6/ We urge everyone to come join with us and share your opinions and any information you may have in our public discussion forums.

(that could probably be tweaked a little)

7/ "founded with the goals of raising public awareness in global political corruption, past, present and future events, ( and a few more issue's) i would leave out the "converse computer security software" thingy.

I would porbably go with just one picture on the bottom, such as madthumbs put in his follow up, change it to OpposingDigits.com and the substitution of "Awarenes" for "Activism"

All in all a fabulous idea, it can be put up as a PDF for other's to download and print up.

Heh, I didn't proof read it.. been in a rush on things lately.

I'd replace "non-profit" with "free access".

I'm not sure about welcoming all opinions. I'd certainly like to be able to allow people to express their racism BUT I don't really want this looking like an unproductive HATE site, or having troubles with ADL/ etc. I'm against racism, but believe censorship only fosters more hate. Bashing is pointless anyway. If people want to express it; I suppose they could use their signature to say "I'm a racist - pm me if you wanna discuss it" or something like that. I also can't allow people to speak ill of the G word or violate other possible affiliate TOS's. Wink

People are welcome to pm me if they think this is a big issue.

Instead of "educate yourself": "Learn from" ... maybe "each other" or something

ok heres the 2nd draft. i added most of the suggestions. personally i think "activism" doesnt look bad. but i do think that the word "conspiracy" has gotten a bad wrap lately. eveytime i talk to people about information that i think is important, they love to label me as a conspiracy theorist. and then on top of that, once the word conspiracy is even spoken certain people automatically want to disbelieve anything you say. if u think "activism" is something you wanna leave out, then you might wanna edit the image for me. also, im not exactly sure how to upload .pdf files to the forum.

ok let's see:

1/ I think the Conspiracy bit should be left in. People say alot of things but they always flock to the "buzz-words". If we were to remove the "Conspiracy Theories" from the site, then what would be left?

Everything's a Conspiracy of one sort or another. Hashing out this flyer is itself a conspiracy amoung (so far) 3 people...

2/ The second sentence does'nt seem right..." Learn" and "raise your interlectual awareness" are both downright patronizing. hm...

how about something like this:

"Raise your awareness with information from true alternative news sources"

"See/Learn what the government and news media are not showing you from an ever growing archive of free video's.

3/ We at OpposingDigits.com do not tolerate promoters of hate or racism.

4/ i still think Conspiracy and Awareness should be in there also... Smile

We have enough bloody politics to sink a ship as it is. Not going to get much out of a bunch of people talking politics...

I support this idea. I think "educate yourself" should be left in, because that's what people need to do.

How about a quote from a great philosopher, Plato for example:

"Most people, including ourselves, live in a world of relative ignorance.

regardless of what some people think other's SHOULD do, instructing someone to DO something is always an alienation point amongts people.

Not something i think should be promoted regarding the site.

Just my thought's considering i'm not exactly sure how you yourself envision the site's purpose.

Also if i may, i think "OpposingDigits" (or even OpposingDigits.com) should be centre top, with the rest directly underneath. Give's it more of a header.

I'm also wandering if it should not read "OpposingDigits.com" rather than just OpposingDigits", this way people know exactly where to go.

I think the site is more than just the forums, and this would not limit people's perception as such.

what do you think about adding the "icon's" back into it beside the name's? not exactly sure what to use for awareness, but perhaps the fist would still be a good match?

Icon's are good "eye grabbers" if you will.

It's good though, i would like to print some of these and see about getting some posted downtown Toronto, now that would be cool.
